Hi there! I'm Kyle, a gay-vegetarian-former journalist turned professional world traveler! Thanks for wanting to learn more about me and join my adventures around the world.
So, where do I begin? I was born in Florida, grew up outside Chicago, and have also lived in Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and Wisconsin. I think always moving as a kid helped spark my curiosity about being in new places.
Growing up, I always wondered how I could travel the world. And that was one of the reasons I got into the news industry. For the past several years I've been working as a TV news reporter/anchor and producer. It's something I wanted to do since I was in elementary school. I love to tell stories and share a glimpse of people's lives to the world. I've covered everything from wildfires, to elections, to even riding new rollercoasters on live tv.
I love food. I haven't always loved it though. I was a pretty picky eater growing up, mostly sticking with chicken fingers until I was about 19. In 2014, I did something that I never thought I would do. I became a vegetarian! I'll get into the reasons why in a future blog post, but for now, just know that I absolutely love it.
After a series of unfortunate life events in 2016, I decided it was time for a change. I re-evaluated my life and decided to leave everything I had worked for behind and put whatever is expected of me in society on hold, all to go travel the world.
I've always had a love for traveling. Meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, trying new foods, and realizing how small this world really is. Before my trip started, I had been to 19 countries.
I created this website as a way to share my adventures with not just my friends and family, but anyone in the world who wants to do something similar. I'll post videos, pictures, blog posts, and anything else you can think of to let you be apart of this journey as well!
