I kicked off my trip in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Visiting sites like the Petronas Twin Towers and Batu Caves. From there, I traveled by train and ferry to George Town, Penang, the second largest city in the country. It wasn't a place that was on my radar but was recommended to me by my CouchSurfing host in Kuala Lumpur. It's where the locals go.

 

After a few days there, I traveled about 2 hours south to the town of Ipoh.  I used this is a stopping point before continuing my journey to the Cameron Highlands, escaping the heat.
